timetotrade's FREE STOCK CHARTS >> are defaulted to display is a candlestick chart with a secondary MACD technical indicator chart beneath.

You can change this default view to suit your personal preferences. For example, you can add chart overlays and any number of technical indicator charts to the display and customise the indicator parameters to your preferred settings.

To change the chart's settings and add/remove technical indicators and overlays, click on the chart "settings" button, as illustrated in the following screen shot:

This will open up the Chart Settings box.


Change a Technical Chart or Overlay
To change the MACD chart to another technical chart or overlay of your choice, click on the "Chart Display" drop down menu:

Select your preferred chart from the drop down menu. You can select from:

  • Stochastic
  • MACD
  • RSI
  • Moving Average
  • Exponential Moving Average
  • Bollinger Bands
  • Williams %R
  • TSI


In this example we will replace the MACD chart with a Bollinger Band chart:

Adjust the indicator parameters to suit your preferences:

Click the "refresh" button to update the chart display:

In this example, the MACD chart has now been replaced with the Bollinger Band overlay, as per the following screen shot:

Click the "save" button if you wish to save these Chart Display changes as your default chart settings.

Otherwise, just click the "done" button to close the Chart Settings box and return to the normal chart view.

Add a Technical Chart or Overlay
To add more technical indicator charts or overlays, click the "add" button:

A second Chart Display drop down menu will appear. As before, select the technical indicator chart or overlay from the drop down menu:

and adjust the parameters as necessary:

You can add as many overlays and technical indicator charts as you wish. Just click the "add" button each time you wish to add an extra chart. In our example, we have now added a 20 day Moving Average overlay and will add a Stochastic indicator chart.

As before, click the "refresh" button to update the chart display:

The Moving Average has been added to the Bollinger Bands overlay on the price chart, and the Stochastic indicator chart is displayed beneath the price chart:

Click the "save" button to make these your default chart settings:

Click the "done" button when you have finished editing your chart settings, this will close the Chart Settings box.

Delete Technical Chart or Overlay
To delete a technical chart or overlay, put a tick in the box next to the overlay or indicator you wish to delete:

and click the "delete" button, as shown:

Click the "refresh" button to update the chart display:

Click the "done" button to close the Display settings box:

Click the "save" button to save your changes as the default chart settings:
