How to Create RSI Alerts

To create an alert, go to the timetotrade Charts page >> , and enter the ticker symbol for the stock or currency pair you wish to follow. This will take you to the chart / alert creation page. The system is defaulted to show the Price chart with the MACD chart below, but once you have set up a timetotrade account you can select your own default settings.

You can adjust the default period and interval parameter values to find the best fit between price movement and the RSI indicator. The default period setting is RSI (14), but you can change the period to suit your trading preferences.

To the right hand side of timetotrade's price and technical charts are sets of "Alert Trigger Buttons":

To create an RSI Alert, just click the Alert Trigger buttons next to the RSI chart. There are no programming languages to learn, no macros or complex forumulas for you to write. Just click a button, enter your parameters, "add the trigger" and "activate" and your alert is created. Simple!

There are four types of RSI Alert Triggers available on the timetotrade system:

Here you can customise the alert to suit you: for example you can personalise the alert message you will receive, decide how you would like to be notified and where you would like the alert sent. You can choose to have the alert sent to your email and/or mobile phone or instant messanger.

Step 3: Click the "activate" button

Multi-Condition Alerts

timetotrade can also be used to create alerts on Price and Volume as well as the technical indicators: Stochastic, Bollinger Bands, MACD and Moving Averages.

Once you are familiar with creating basic alerts you can use timetotrade's advanced features to customise your alerts to suit you. You can build compound alerts containing multiple trigger conditions against price and multiple technical indicators; for example: you could set up rule that will trigger an alert to be sent to you when the share price falls below a defined value followed by the stochastic increasing above 20 and a positive MACD crossover.

You can also edit the alert message you will receive and you can specify where particular alerts are to be sent - to your email and/or mobile phone or PDA.
